[28 September 2011] Hong Kong National Women’s Rugby Sevens set off for Asian Championships
The Hong Kong Rugby Football Union (HKRFU) today named the National Women’s Rugby Sevens Squad for the 2011 Asian Rugby Women’s Sevens Championships, 1-2 October, Pune, India. The squad repeated the same 12 members took part in the Asia-Pacific Women’s Sevens (APWS) in Borneo last weekend.

[20 September 2011] Varty captains men’s rugby sevens to Borneo in search for a win to secure first place in the series; Jury expects women’s to fight back hard
The Hong Kong Rugby Football Union (HKRFU) announced the men’s and women’s rugby sevens squads for the Borneo Sevens this weekend, the second leg of the HSBC Asian Sevens Series. The Borneo Sevens will be played this weekend at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
Men’s Squad: Rowan Varty (captain), Nick Hewson, Mark Goosen, Kwok Ka-chun, Anthony Haynes, Tsang Hing-hung, Fan Shun-kei, Tim Alexander, Alex McQueen, Keith Robertson, Tom McQueen, Yiu Kam-shing.

Barnstorming backrower Pale Tauti was one of two new faces in the Hong Kong squad which departed this morning for the Shanghai Sevens, the opening leg of the HSBC Asian Sevens Series this weekend.
Tauti, who had an outstanding debut campaign for Hong Kong at the Asian Five Nations this year, and livewire scrumhalf Peter McKee are the two newcomers in a 12-strong squad which will be captained by Rowan Varty.

Still, National U20s Sevens Head Coach Alex Gibbs were pleased about the performance of the young squad, saying, "On the back of some great performances in the fifteens tournament, I was very pleased that these players managed to achieve what they did this weekend."

[Jun 27, 2011] Rusty heavyweights Japan and Hong Kong win openers at U20s Asian ChampionshipsJapan and Hong Kong both opened their ARFU U20s Asian Championship with unconvincing wins over Sri Lanka and Thailand respectively at Hong Kong Football Club on Saturday.
Asian champions Japan defeated Sri Lanka 54-29, conceding three tries to the islanders in the last quarter of the game while they were scoreless. In the other game, Hong Kong turned in a scrappy performance to outlast Thailand 37-17.

[21 May 2011] Hong Kong’s 10-try blitz earns runner-up spot in HSBC A5N 2011Hong Kong claimed second spot in the HSBC Asian Five Nations Top Five competition after crushing the United Arab Emirates 62-3 in the final round at a rain-swept Hong Kong Football Club.
While perennial champions Japan once again clinched the top spot, Hong Kong for the first time grabbed the runners-up position in the fourth year of this tournament and they did it in style with a 10-try romp past an overmatched UAE.
