Schools Rugby is one of the fastest growing areas of the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union. The 2009/2010 Season saw Schools Rugby continue to move forward with an increase in the number of teams participating in the Schools League and an increase in the competitiveness of the League itself.
This is due in no small part to the experience and talent of our Schools Rugby coaches who continue to share their time and expertise with our young rugby players.
Schools Rugby for Girls also continues to expand. The HKRFU and Schools Rugby Committee are putting in place strategic developments to ensure the enthusiasm for Rugby at this level is consolidated and enhanced.
Each year the Schools Rugby League hosts the Bill Williams Sevens tournament. In 2009, West Island School turned in an excellent performance to beat Shatin College in the final. KGV beat the French International School to win the Plate, while the Bowl championship was won by the Delia School of Canada.
