Hartpury Academy of Sport

Hartpury Academy of Sport was created in 2000 to provide students with the potential to become professional athletes in Rugby, Football, Golf, Equine, Netball or Modern Pentathlon with the opportunity to receive expert one-to-one coaching in the outstanding sporting facilities at Hartpury College.  Academy students are able to continue their academic education at the same time as developing their sporting potential.  The Hartpury Rugby Academy is a joint venture between Hartpury College and Gloucester RFC, and many Hartpury alumni have gone on to senior representative honours.

The Academy provides a limited number of scholarships paying tuition fees for successful further education (post 16) and undergraduate applicants.  In recent years the HKRFU have put forward two candidates for scholarships – LI Chi-yung and Justin Thirlwell, who both graduated with BA Hons in Sports Business Management.  To find out more about Hartpury go to www.hartpury.ac.uk or to enquire about scholarship opportunities through the HKRFU contact brian.higgins@hkrugby.com.
