Hong Kong Touch Association (HKTA)

Touch in an organized form has been played in Hong Kong since 1988 with the commencement of the first summer league.  From humble origins as a predominantly expat sport, Touch has experienced rapid growth and is now represented in Hong Kong by over 1000 registered players competing in local leagues and tournaments.

The centerpiece of the Touch calendar in Hong Kong is the Summer League which runs from May-July each year, the Winter League which runs from Nov-Mar and the annual Intercities tournament in April/May which attracts teams from both overseas and Hong Kong.  In addition a number of local indoor and outdoor tournaments are held throughout the year.  Touch has also developed a strong presence in schools in Hong Kong with tournaments run at the primary, secondary and tertiary level.

As a sport, Touch is fun, fast, safe, inclusive, exciting and emphasizes fitness and teamwork with low entry costs, which explains why the sport has become so popular in Hong Kong.

Touch is managed in Hong Kong by the Operating Committee of the HKTA and is supported by the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union. The HKTA is also a member of the Federation of International Touch (FIT).
