24-25 August 2019 saw more than 210 Societe Generale staff across Asia Pacific participate in a touch rugby tournament in Hong Kong. Participation was conditional, in that each team was to raise 6,000 euros among their communities, so as to allow underprivileged kids from Societe Generale’s supported charities across the Asia Pacific and other selected locations to experience a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ trip to RWC 2019 in Japan.
With the aim of using rugby as a medium to help tackle social issues in the city, the 2019 tournament built excitement internally for the 2019 Rugby World Cup and connected the diversity of cultures through rugby.
