Men's National 7s

Hong Kong participates in the annual Asian Sevens Series. The series is divided into 3 legs from August to October every year. The top 2 teams will qualify for the World Series Qualifiers held in Hong Kong. As host of a leg in the HSBC Sevens World Series Hong Kong participated in the event. They have had success against top tier nations during this event and have won the Plate, Bowl and Shield.

The World Series Qualifiers was a new concept introduced 4 years ago and is run side by side with the World Series leg in Hong Kong. The winner of this tournament automatically qualifies as a core team on HSBC World Sevens Series the following year. Hong Kong also has the opportunity to qualify for the Olympics as a regional tournament is hosted every four years with the winner representing Asia at the Olympics.

Hong Kong has participated in all Rugby World Cup Sevens and recently played in the World Games held in Colombia. Another major event is the Asian Games. Hong Kong were gold medalists in the 2018 (Jakarta , Indonesia) and silver medalists in the 2010 (Guangzhou, China) and 2014 (Incheon, South Korea). Look forward to upcoming Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China.
