DATES CONFIRMED FOR HONG KONG SEVENS 2020

04th Jul 2019

The Hong Kong Rugby Union (HKRU) has announced dates for the 2020 Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, with the three-day tournament to run from Friday, April 3 to Sunday, April 5, 2020.

Held at Hong Kong Stadium, the 2020 event will see the Men’s and Women’s Sevens Series unite in Hong Kong for the first time across what is set to be one of the most spectacular and compelling weekends in global rugby.

As announced by World Rugby in March, the HKRU will host one of eight legs in the HSBC World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series as part of the 2020 Hong Kong Sevens – the 45th edition of the iconic event.

Details on the Public Ticket Ballot, hospitality offerings and Overseas Travel Agents partnering with the event will be announced in the coming weeks. Fans are encouraged to sign up to the event’s newsletter at hksevens.com and follow official social channels to stay informed.

The 2019 Hong Kong Sevens was a sell-out event with Fiji creating history by securing a fifth consecutive title in Hong Kong with a 21-7 victory over France in the Cup final.

The tournament provided four scintillating days of rugby action across the Men’s Series, Men’s Qualifier and Women’s Qualifier, while the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens Festival delivered two popular fanzones – Sevens Central and the Fanwalk at Lee Gardens – as well as a headline concert with international pop icon Gwen Stefani presented by Marriott Bonvoy.
