PO LEUNG KUK TOUR TO BEIJING!

31st May 2018

Last weekend 21 boys and girls selected from 12 Po Leung Kuk primary schools headed north to Beijing for the China Under 12 Touch Rugby Championships. These schools are part of the “Tackling Life” programme run by the HKRU Community Foundation, and a key part of the broader partnership between the Union and the Kuk, Hong Kong’s largest educational charity.

This was the second year Kuk teams had participated in the Beijing event, and although they weren’t able to retain the Cup won on their inaugural visit, both teams enjoyed themselves on and off the pitch, and finished very creditably Cup and Plate runners-up.

“Having the opportunity to play with teams from around China is a great experience for these youngsters,” explained HKRU General Manager Brandon Huang, “and it will certainly be a trip that they will treasure and remember. These programmes would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors Savills, Macquarie, KPMG and of course the proceeds from the fantastic annual HKRUCF Charity Ball.”

This year’s Ball will take place on Saturday 3rd November at the HKCEC, featuring a live performance by rock legends Foreigner - tickets on sale now! https://www.hkrucharityball.org/
