STANDARD CHARTERED TERTIARY XVS LEAGUE 2018

The Standard Chartered Tertiary XVs League has become key annual tournaments for players to showcase the team’s hard work for the season. Under new format to the competition was introduced, moving from 6-week league format to an action-packed 3-day competition, with the goal to provide a more exciting and competitive for both players and spectators alike.

13 men’s teams and eight women’s teams from Hong Kong's tertiary institutions participated, pool games kicked off on 22nd April, semi-finals on 3rd June, and the finale on 10th June.

In the Men’s division, familiar foes EduHK and HKBU face off in third consecutive Cup Final of Tertiary XVs League.  Already this marks their third Tertiary finals encounter this year.


Defending champions HKBU beat EdUHK 19-5 and for the third time was crowned the Varsity Cup Champions. The celebrations continued with their Women’s team also clinched the title by edging out CUHK Ladies in the final.

Other winners in the men's divisions include IVE ST Combine DILWL  winning the Jon Maxwell Plate, and CUHK won the Bowl competition. In other women’s division, THEi combine picked up the Women’s Plate.
