What is the HKRU’s affiliation with the British & Irish Lions tour? Do I need to be a HKRU member to purchase these tickets?

The Hong Kong Rugby Union is an Official Sub-Agent of SA Rugby Travel for the British & Irish Lions South Africa 2021 ROW Travel Programme. You do not need to be a member of the HKRU to purchase tickets, this is open to anyone, excluding residents of the UK & Europe.

Do I have to buy accommodation & transfers as part of the package? Can I just buy the match ticket?

No. All packages sold through the HKRU must include a Category B Match Ticket, 3 night’s accommodation & match day transfers.

Can I purchase more than 1 ticket?

All match tickets are sold as packages including accommodation and transfers. You may purchase more than 1 package, but each ticket must have the corresponding fans name attached, and verification of proof of residency.

Can I purchase a package for all 3 matches?

Yes you can purchase a package covering all 3 matches. For Tests 1 & 3, individual packages are available. For Test 2 (Capetown), this package must be bought alongside a package for either Test 1 or Test 3.

Can I upgrade/downgrade my match ticket?

The standard package includes a Category B Match Day ticket, but you have the option to upgrade/downgrade on an individual basis, subject to availability at an additional cost.

When will I receive my match ticket & seat allocation?

SA Rugby Travel will allocate match tickets 30-60 days prior to the Lions Tour 2021.

Can I choose my seat? Can you guarantee my party will be sat together?

At this stage, Stadium Maps are not available, however we will endeavour to seat your group together, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Cat A – Lower Tier – Half way line to try line

Cat B – Lower Tier – Corner plus behind poles

Cat C – Middle Tier (All Round)

Cat D – Upper Tier (All Round)

Cape Town Stadium

Cat A – Lower Tier & Middle Tier – Half way line to try line

Cat B – Lower Tier & Middle Tier – Corners

Cat C – Lower Tier & Middle Tier – Behind Poles

Cat D – Upper Tier – Corners plus behind poles

Ellis Park

Cat A – Lower Tier – Half way line to try line

Cat B – Lower Tier – Corner/Second Tier – Middle

Cat C – Lower Tier – Behind Poles/Second Tier – Corners

Cat D – Second Tier – Behind Poles

Will I receive a physical match ticket?

No. Match tickets are electronic and will only be distribution once SA Rugby Travel have confirmed the residence of travellers and all outstanding payments are up to date.

Can I purchase packages for non-test matches?

Not through our channels, the HKRU is selling Test Match packages only.

Can I purchase flights as part of the package?

No. The HKRU is selling land packages only.

What are the accommodation details? Can I upgrade?

Exact accommodation details have not yet been released; however the package includes 3 nights’ accommodation, including daily breakfast, in a 4* hotel. You have the option to select a standard or shared room package. Upgrades are available on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability and additional cost.

What payment means can I use?

Via Ticketflap, payment means include;

VISA, Mastercard, American Express

Will we have a dedicated tour leader in South Africa?

No. SA Rugby Travel will offer a meet and greet assistance on arrival/departure, and match day assistance but the package does not include a dedicated tour leader.

I’m a UK Resident, can I purchase tickets from this site?

No. HKRU, on behalf of SA Rugby Travel cannot sell tickets to residents of UK or Europe. Ticket purchasers are required to provide authentication and proof of residency to verify this.

Does the package include Travel Insurance?

No. SA Rugby Travel packages do not include travel insurance, we do however recommend that all travellers ensure they have their own travel insurance.

What happens if the tour is postponed or cancelled?

If the tour is cancelled, a full refund will be issued. If the tour is postponed, the ticket and hotel packages will be valid for the rescheduled dates, with no refund option – please see full terms and conditions. In the case of a postponed event, hotel options may also change depending on availability.
