Tanner De Witt, one of the largest independent Hong Kong law firms, has renewed its title sponsorship of the Hong Kong Rugby Referees for Hong Kong’s domestic leagues for another three years.  This will extend Tanner De Witt’s support of Rugby Refereeing in Hong Kong to a decade, having backed this area of domestic rugby since 2015.

Tanner De Witt has proudly supported the broader Hong Kong rugby community for more than two decades. Tanner De Witt alumni include several Hong Kong rugby players such as Rowan Varty, Kim Boreham and Pete Spizzirri. Rowan and Pete are both featured in the HKRU Hall of Fame for their contribution to the sport in Hong Kong. Kim was the first Director of Women’s Rugby for the HKRU from 2016-2019 where she spearheaded a campaign to encourage more women to take up rugby governance roles.

Tanner De Witt has also supported several seasons of mini rugby through the provision of more than one thousand Tanner De Witt rugby balls annually to the Hong Kong Mini Rugby Football Union. They have also been proud to sponsor several high-profile teams over the years including the Nomads, the Flying Kukris minis and the Pot Bellied Pigs.

Supporting grass roots community sports like rugby is an important part of Tanner De Witt’s culture to support and promote Hong Kong’s community and the Hong Kong Rugby Referees is a key part of this. Rugby is truly part of the soul of their firm and they are passionate about supporting the sport here in Hong Kong.
