WXV GLOBAL SERIES CHALLENGER 2026

Fiji continue to press their claims for the WXV Global Series Challenger title after beating hosts Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR) in Round 2, 54-26.

In today’s other matches, the Netherlands outlasted Brazil 17-15 to go two wins from two matches, while Spain got in the victory column with a 61-21 win over Samoa.

The host Hong Kong China Rugby women’s XV beat Brazil, 29-24, to delight the home crowds as part of an exciting triple header of world-class women’s rugby today in the first round of the World Rugby WXV Global Series Challenger 2026 at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground. In the other matches, Fiji marked their first ever win over Spain 38-32 as they came from behind to win in equally dramatic fashion. The finale saw the Netherlands advance past Samoa, 70-0.

Hong Kong will play host for the WXV Global Series Challenger 2026 from 13 September to 26 September 2026, with the tournament’s nine matches to be played as three triple-header matchdays all to be held at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground. The announcement comes on the morning of the final day of a spectacular 50th Anniversary edition of the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, giving fans more top-level representative rugby to look forward to in the city later this year.
