IN REMEMBRANCE – MASON WILKINSON

PUBLISHED ON 06 MAY 2025
Hong Kong China Rugby would like to share our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Mason Wilkinson, who tragically lost his life while visiting Bluff Cove with his family late last month. He passed away doing what he loved, with the people he loved in a place that he was always happy.
Mason was a much-loved member of the Kowloon Stingrays U18s team, where his brother Flynn plays at U14s. Mason began playing rugby as an Under 4 with Sai Kung Stingrays and was ever present in Stingrays teams from those early days. The same can be said for his KGV School team, a team he was so proud to be part of. Very deserving of his appointment as captain for the Kowloon Lions in the recent U18 7’s competition Mason is aptly summed up by him being awarded ‘Best Teammate’ by his KGV team coaches and players for the 2024-25 season.
The entire rugby community is devastated by the unimaginable loss of one of our young players.
Mason’s parents, Roger and Frances, have asked us to invite anyone connected with Mason to a remembrance and celebration of his life. This will be held on Friday 9 May at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Causeway Bay from 6:30PM.
People are also welcome to share photos, video and written memories of Mason with the family by emailing memoriesofmason@gmail.com.
