HONG KONG CHINA RUGBY ELEVATES PARTNERSHIP WITH DHL EXPRESS HONG KONG

DHL Express Hong Kong has been extended as a Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR) team partner through to 2029, solidifying its role in supporting local rugby teams to shine in international championships and promoting the sport at all levels. This elevates HKCR’s existing relationship with DHL Express Hong Kong, who has been the organisation’s official partner since 2024.

DHL Express is a long-standing supporter of rugby at a global level, led by high-profile partnerships with European Investec Champions Cup Rugby, the British & Irish Lions, and top club sides including Harlequins in United Kingdom, The Stormers in South Africa and Munster in Ireland.

Andy Chiang, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DHL Express Hong Kong and Macau, said: “Through our partnership with Hong Kong China Rugby, we are not just supporting rugby. We are also nurturing a vibrant community and a sports culture in the city. We will empower young athletes, support their development, and inspire a new generation to embrace the values of teamwork, passion and the speed at which the game is played that define the sport. Along with our recent partnership with Kai Tak Sports Park, this reflects our commitment to Hong Kong's sports development. At DHL Express, we believe in the power of connection—between athletes and fans through the game. We are shaping the future of rugby and fostering sportsmanship in Hong Kong, one play at a time.”

This latest partnership will support HKCR to strengthen our range of performance programmes, develop young talent, and support our athletes at the elite level. As part of the partnership, the DHL logo will proudly display on the back of the playing jersey (below the number) for Hong Kong China 7s and 15s representative teams.

Bryan Rennie, Executive Director of Commercial and Business at Hong Kong China Rugby, commented on the immediate impact the partnership with DHL Express Hong Kong will have in 2025: “A key area that DHL’s investment will support this year is preparations for our Men’s 15s squad. The team will take on the challenge of a Rugby World Cup qualification campaign in the summer. They aim to make history as the first men’s team from Hong Kong China to play at a World Cup. We love working with partners who share the same goals of growing the profile and interest in the sport of rugby.”

To celebrate the new partnership, DHL Express is running the Memory Match Competition to give fans a chance to win tickets to the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens. This also marks the move of Hong Kong’s iconic sporting event to the newly established Kai Tak Sports Park. To enter, fans simply need to click here and match up their Hong Kong China heroes in the shortest time possible.
