When athletes become ill or injured during practice or competition, you need to know how to respond. Whether on the court, on the field, at the pool, or in the gym, you must be prepared to handle the common injuries and illnesses likely encountered during sport. HKCR First Aid in Sports (FIS) teaches you how to administer basic first aid to sick and injured athletes as well as ways to prevent illnesses and injuries from occurring.
Aims of Course:
• To provide participants with the fundamental principles of sports first aid.
• To develop the ability to assess and respond effectively to common sports injuries and medical emergencies.
• To ensure participants can administer immediate care while awaiting professional medical assistance.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
• Understand sports first aid principles.
• Recognize and assess sports injuries and medical emergencies using a standard safe approach.
• Manage sports injuries and medical emergencies in an organized and calm manner.
• Respond to life-threatening conditions using CPR and AED.
• Effectively communicate with emergency services and provide accurate incident reports.
– Prerequisites: Must be 14 years old (this is required for CPR certification), online modules should be completed prior to attending the classroom session.
