HONG KONG CHINA RUGBY AMONG 100 GLOBAL CHANGEMAKERS SHORTLISTED FOR SPORT POSITIVE AWARDS 2025

PUBLISHED ON 11 AUG 2025

Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR) is among 100 organisations and individuals who have been shortlisted for the Sport Positive Awards 2025 for leading the charge on creating a more sustainable, resilient, equitable, and climate-conscious future for sport.

Shortlisted in Transformation for “The Call of the Dragon”, Rugby’s first Sustainability Action Plan, HKCR is proud to have their work recognised among those leading the charge in taking action on a sustainable future for sport at these prestigious global awards.

The Call of the Dragon sets objectives, a strategy, a baseline and key targets within People, Planet and Social Impact, pulled together in a 5-year timeline at the end of the plan. Enablers are laid out that will be required to achieve this plan. The action plan follows HKCR’s 2024 decision to name Sustainability as one of the three key pillars in its 10-year strategic plan and demonstrates the importance placed on this pillar at Board Level, by the CEO and by Senior Management. The aim is not only to transform HKCR operations, but to transform the landscape of rugby.

Sport Positive Awards 2025 is a global industry awards that celebrates, uplifts, inspires and raises awareness of the people and organisations working in and around sport that are enabling game-changing activities that are ensuring sustainable business, climate action, biodiversity and environmental justice. Sports clubs, teams, leagues, venues, federations, non-profits, and academics from around the world, from Hong Kong to Australia, Canada to Brazil, and UK to UAE and USA, have been shortlisted across twelve categories, including Purpose-Led Partnership, Campaign of the Year, and Inspired Innovation.
