Hong Kong China Men’s XVs have learnt their first three fixtures in the inaugural edition of World Rugby’s new Nations Cup.
The tournament features the team’s ranked 13-24 in the world rankings, with Hong Kong China ranked in 23rd place after an incredible 2026, which saw the team qualify for the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 via their sixth consecutive Asia Rugby Championship win.
The Nations Cup will see each team play six matches in 2026, three in July and three more during the traditional November Test window. The tournament has been designed to create competitive matches between teams close to one another in the world rankings, helping each team to best prepare their World Cup campaigns in 2027.
In July, all matches will be hosted by competing countries in North America and South America. Hong Kong China are in Pool B with teams from Europe, Asia & Africa – namely Georgia, Portugal, Romania, Spain, and Zimbabwe – with the crossover format meaning that in 2026 they will face each team in Pool A – namely Canada, Chile, Samoa, Tonga, Uruguay and the USA.
