Club Coaching Officer_Valley RFC

Job Summary

The Club Coaching Officer, along with the Club Management Team, will be responsible for creating and implementing club and national team strategies in applicable areas.  He/ she will deliver expertise in technical, tactical, analytical and psychological elements of the game.

He/ she will be responsible for facilitating the necessary player/team needs, via liaison with the General Manager Rugby Performance and Club Chairman to disseminate appropriate trends, techniques and philosophies throughout the ‘club’ and its associated partners e.g. age group squads and associated schools.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Club responsibilities

•    Coach of the Club’s team which plays in the Premiership competition of the Hong Kong Rugby Union (“HKRU”) with wider responsibility for all players that play and are selected for both the Premiership and Premiership A competions (the “Performance Squad”);

•    Head coach of the of coaching teams of the Premiership and Premiership A teams (the “Performance Teams”), including providing “coach the coach” role for all coaches who handle high performance players;

•    Responsibility, with the wide coaching squad and the Club’s Chief Operating Officer (“COO”), for player recruitment, welfare and retention of players in/for the Performance Teams;

•    Responsibility for liaising with the HKRU regarding all issues related to the Performance Teams and the Performance Squad, including, in particular, recruitment, welfare and retention of the Club’s players who also play for/ are contracted to the HKRU;

•    Responsibility for assisting in the identification, development, retention and welfare of future players for the Performance Squad including from throughout the men’s Club and for the Club’s youth men’s section, with a particular emphasis on players that originate from Hong Kong or are qualified to play for Hong Kong.

 

HKRU responsibilities

•    Working closely with the HKRU General Manager Rugby Performance to provide a coach development programme at Valley RFC.

•    To provide specialized skill development to the HKRU Performance Players Programmes e.g. Academy, Performance Programme.

•    To provide support for HKRU youth representative team programmes, assisting the coaching teams with selection process, advice, mentoring, skills sessions, etc.

•    Assist Coach Co-ordinator with planning and implementation of education programmes in schools.

•    To attend a weekly CCOs meeting at HKRU offices

 

Specific responsibilities

  • To devise a philosophy for the Club designed to create a successful short, medium and long term development pathway for the Club’s Premiership and Premiership A teams;
  • To devise practices that will enhance Performance Squad player skills, understanding and implementation of the philosophy; 
  • To act as the strategist for the Clubs Premiership team by analysing the team’s tactics and opposing teams’ play;
  • To be involved in the planning and preparation of the annual calendar for the Performance Teams, with particular reference to training phases, analytical work and match focus;
  • To organise and manage the weekly/monthly/seasonal preparations of the Performance Teams prior to all matches and tournaments;
  • To provide support for the Club youth and community league development programmes, assisting with the coaching of other Club teams while supporting selection, mentoring, skills development, etc.; and
  • To work closely with management teams to provide a coach development programme at the Club.

運動場設施搬運及架設工作,簡單維修工作及監察停車場使用情況,以及一般清潔工作。

 

上班時間為1400-2300或08:00-17:00,視乎公司需要,每天工作八小時,每週工作六天,需輪班,輪休,年假十五天,年終酌情性花紅,醫療及門診保險,強積金,有薪病假,法定勞工假期,工作地點為佐敦。
