英國保誠元旦日青少年欖球錦標賽2019
英國保誠元旦日青少年欖球錦標賽自1967年以不同比賽形式舉行，Vernon Roberts協助促成第一次香港與海外學子對賽，作為新年傳統假香港足球會舉行的Army對戰 Civvie “Old & Bold”比賽的附屬賽事。
此項比賽於過去五十年穩步發展，增設更多年齡組別、女子組賽事，更新設一項由欖總「少年戰士計劃」培訓最佳球員呈獻的比賽。
有賴各屆比賽總監的悉心傳承，很多賽事的傳統和名字都得以妥善保留；很多獎項已歷史悠久，包括Roberts銀盾、Waterford 銀碗、George White獎，不得不提還有很早期設立的Middlesex盃。近年，為表揚一眾欖球社區新血對欖球發展的貢獻，賽事亦新設以他們名字命名的銀盃獎項，包括Stuart Leckie Cup、Wright-Naylor Trophy、Gordon Lamb's Lassies Quaich及Overton Cup；當中最享負盛名的奬項「Best & Fairest Award」則以已故的Larry Able命名。他致力發展青少年欖球，成就有目共睹。
