OUR PROGRAMMES
There are many ways that people can engage with rugby at all levels of our game. Check out the range of programmes that Hong Kong China Rugby oversees alongside our partners, clubs and supporting associations.
HSBC TRY RUGBY
This exciting partnership between HKCR, HSBC and HKeDU provides primary schools with the education, training and equipment to incorporate rugby into their school’s PE curriculum. Since 2017, HSBC Try Rugby has seen 57% of local primary schools adopt the programme – allowing 67,500 students to embrace the fun of tackles and tries.
HKCR RUGBY FOR GOOD
In 2013, Hong Kong China Rugby’s Official Charity became the first Section 88 Charity in Hong Kong to be founded by a National Sports Association. Rugby For Good is focused on using sport to provide education, targeting areas of social inclusion and wellbeing for the underprivileged children and youth in Hong Kong.
In 2023, programmes were provided across 18 districts and to over 225 local schools and NGO Groups, with 16 active projects reaching over 32,000 beneficiaries across communities in need throughout Hong Kong.

RUGBY AT SCHOOL
Through the support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, we’ve brought rugby programmes to over 200 local schools. This includes the Jockey Club All About Rugby programme which blends the skills and core values of rugby – empathy, honesty, passion and inclusion – with life lessons and mental health awareness for students.
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA
We are delighted to have partnered with the University of Sunderland in Hong Kong and the Kai Tak Sports Initiative to offer a Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Sport. The course includes work experience for students alongside the Hong Kong Sevens events and marketing team.
