SELECTION CRITERIA FOR HONORARY MEMBERS
The following criteria will be required for the selection of Honorary Members:
• Persons must have demonstrated an exceptional commitment and assistance to the development and promotion of Rugby in Hong Kong.
• Persons must be of excellent character worthy of the award as an Honorary Member of the Hong Kong Rugby Union.
Note:
Employees of the Hong Kong Rugby Union & former participants of the game of rugby in Hong Kong who are nominated solely because of their participation at a high level of the game do not meet the threshold for an Honorary Membership.
NOMINATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURE
Recommendations should be made by letter to the Honorary Categories Appointment Committee (HCAC) of the Hong Kong Rugby Union outlining the qualifications of the nominee and the reasons justifying the recommendation.
The recommendation should be endorsed by that individual member's club chairman, or by the Chairman of the Hong Kong Rugby Union if appropriate. These endorsements should be in the form of letters to the HCAC and will be attached to the nomination letter for consideration by the Board of Directors (BoD) of the Hong Kong Rugby Union.
The required nomination material must be submitted in sufficient time for the HCAC to review and recommend nomination to the BoD to be presented to the Board of Directors at the last board meeting of the current playing season.

All of the following criteria will be required for consideration to be inducted into the Hong Kong Rugby Union Hall of Fame:
Note(s):
A person may be considered for induction to the Hall of Fame with a combination of contributions to playing the game of Rugby as well as Non-Rugby Playing activities as mentioned above.
Employees of the Hong Kong Rugby Union do not meet the threshold for induction into the Hall of Fame.
NOMINATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURE
Recommendations should be made by letter to the HKRU Honorary Categories Appointment Committee (HCAC) outlining the qualifications of the nominee together with reasons justifying the recommendation to be inducted into the Hong Kong Rugby Union Hall of Fame.
The recommendation should be endorsed by a minimum of two voting members of the Hong Kong Rugby Union. These endorsements should be in the form of letters to the HKRU HCAC and will be attached to the nomination letter for consideration by the HCAC.
The required nomination material must be submitted in sufficient time to be presented to the Board of Directors no later than 14 working days before the last board meeting of the current playing season.
BACKGROUND
The Joel Dunn Award is presented in memory of the late Joel Dunn, an individual who as a player, coach and teacher made an exceptional contribution to the Hong Kong rugby community.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR JOEL DUNN AWARD
The following criteria will be required for the selection of the Joel Dunn Award:
• The Joel Dunn Award will honour an individual or group from the Hong Kong rugby community who have shown an outstanding display of character which embodies the true values of rugby - integrity, respect, solidarity, passion and discipline - and thereby have made an exceptional contribution to the Hong Kong rugby community.
NOMINATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURE
Recommendations should be made by email to the CEO HKRU, who will table at the Honorary Categories Appointment Committee (HCAC) of the Hong Kong Rugby Union outlining the qualifications of the nominee and the reasons justifying the recommendation.
The recommendation should be endorsed by a club chairman, or by the Chairman of the Hong Kong Rugby Union if appropriate.
The required nomination material must be submitted in sufficient time for the HCAC to review and recommend nomination to the Board of Directors at the last board meeting of the current playing season.
ANNOUNCEMENT AND PRESENTATION OF AWARD
The Joel Dunn Award will be presented at the Hong Kong Rugby Union Annual Dinner. The awardee will receive an inscribed tankard and any other gift as may be determined by the CEO/Board of Directors.
The Joel Dunn Award winner will normally be the HKRU’s nomination for the Asia Rugby Award for Character.
