Hong Kong Referees

Refereeing - Get Involved!

Do you want to see the game from the best seat in the house?! Get Involved - become a rugby referee!

Apart from playing it is one of the most satisfying contributions you can make to the game of rugby. Whether you are a current player, recently retired, or involved in rugby at any level, refereeing is a great way to 'give back to the game you love'.

Refereeing a closely-fought game of rugby is one of the most exhilarating things you can do, the pressure of making the correct decision in an instant is a huge adrenalin rush for most referees. You could join that band of decision makers.

Generally the earlier you start refereeing, the better, but in Hong Kong, we have a lower age limit of 14. The upper limit is often governed only by the person’s fitness and desire to continue.

It’s increasingly common for players at school to take up the whistle as they realise they perhaps don’t have the physical attributes to make it to the top as a player.

For current players and officials, refereeing is a great way to give something back to the Game and to help widen participation in the sport and make Hong Kong Rugby A Game for All.
