Mandatory criteria
Player Welfare
- Appoint a Player Welfare Officer, who will be the club’s point of contact regarding player welfare matters. This person MUST attend the annual HKCR Player Welfare workshop.
- Appoint two Safeguarding Officers (preferably one male & one female) that will take responsibility for the clubs safeguarding policies and procedures. These two people MUST attend the annual HKCR Player Welfare workshop.
- Provide a qualified first aider for each game. It is the responsibility of the club to ensure that the qualifications of the first aider are current.
Coaching
- Provide each team with at least one WR Level 1 qualified coach.
Management & Governance
- Inform HKCR of all elected Directors and General Committee members.
- Ensure all players are registered with HKCR via GameDay.
Teams
- Enter at least one team (not including a combined team) in either a Men’s Community League or Women’s Community League.
Recommendations
The following recommendations are seen as best practice, and although not a requirement for 2023/24 accreditation, clubs are encouraged to consider working towards achieving these.
Player Welfare
- Provide a qualified first aider for each training. It is the responsibility of the club to ensure that the qualifications of the first aider are current.
Pathways
- Either have a youth section within the club or have a formal agreement with another youth club. The agreement must outline a plan that aims to successfully transition players from one club to the other.
- Appoint a Transition Coordinator, who is responsible for the strategic transition of players from Youth and Tertiary into Senior rugby.
Management & Governance
- Have at least one female serving on the club Board and General Committee. (Preferably separate individuals)
