30 October 2010 saw the Bledisloe Cup series extend to Asia when New Zealand and Australia returned to Hong Kong for the first time since their historic encounter in 2008. With both teams fielding strong line-ups, Australia Wallabies ended their long hoodoo against the New Zealand All Blacks, the top-ranked team in the world, with a 26-24 victory.
“Bringing the Bledisloe Cup back to Hong Kong will reinforce our position as a global rugby destination. With millions watching on television around the world this is rugby at its best and a real showcase for Hong Kong.” said then HKRU Executive Director Robert Knight.
