Day 2 of the USF Tertiary Sevens saw The City University of Hong Kong ran out 24-0 winners over PolyU to claim the title instead of typhoons sweeping the Tin Shui Wai Community Rugby Ground.

The City University of Hong Kong, who notched two solid wins over HKU 45-0 and PolyU 33-0 to advance to the Cup final, whilst  Hong Kong Baptist University overpowered EdUHK 12-7 and CUHK 17-0 respectively to meet CityU in the final.

An energetic start saw CityU build an early advantage against HKBU in the cup final battle, leading 10-0 at the break, after two tries from Law Chun Yuen.

CityU continued to prove how good they can be with a dominant second-half display as well, adding 14 more points in the second half, while keeping HKBU scoreless.

Lai Nok Hei and Ng Yuk Shing were the try scorers for CityU with Lo Pui Yin Mervyn adding the conversions.

When the dust settled, CityU had emerged as 24-0 champions.

In the third-place playoff, PolyU edged CUHK 27-7, to claim Bronze.
