THRILLS AND SKILLS AT THE 2022 HYSAN GIRL'S YOUTH GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP

20th Dec 2022

On 11th December, Sunday, King’s Park played host to the 2022 Hysan Girl’s Youth Grand Championship finals. After two rounds of the Hysan Girl’s Youth Leagues, the top four teams from each age group gathered at King’s Park to compete at the Hysan Girl’s Youth Grand Championship, an exciting event that pitted some of the most promising junior rugby stars in town against each other.

Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC Natixis), Stingers Rugby Team (combined Team between Sai Kung Stingrays and USRC Tigers), and HKU Sandy Bay were respective winners of the U14, U16, and U18 grand champions this year.

HKU Sandy Bay, which played in the regular season with a clean sweep for all age groups (U14, U16, and U18), was the hot favorite to win the Grand Championship. As it turned out, they continued their success during the U18 Final, with a convincing 15-0 victory over the Combined team of Flying Kukri and Valley Fort.

It was wonderful to have Ricky Lui, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Hysan Development, spending the day with us and taking time to congratulate and present trophies to the winning teams.

Congratulations to all players and teams that took part in the 2022-23 Hysan Youth Girl’s League and Grand Championship. See you all in 2023 when we will kick off the second half of the 2022-23 Hysan Youth Season.
