TICKETING DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR CATHAY PACIFIC/HSBC HONG KONG SEVENS

09th Oct 2018

The Hong Kong Rugby Union (HKRU) has announced the opening of the public ballot for tickets to the world-famous Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens in 2019.

Following a pre-sales period for Hong Kong rugby club members and stakeholders, tickets are again being made available via a public ballot process.  The public ballot for the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens was officially opened at the Sevens Long Lunch on Friday, 5 October.

Tickets remain at previous year prices of HK$1,950 for a full three-day tournament pass.

Sevens public ticket ballot details announced

The registration period for the ballot opened on Friday, 5 October 2018 and will run for 16 weeks, closing on Saturday, 9 February 2019.

The ballot process follows an exclusive sales period for members of the local rugby community, in keeping with the HKRU’s policy of prioritising its participating members for access to Hong Kong’s flagship rugby tournament.

Interested spectators can register for the ballot via the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens website at http://hksevens.com/tickets/ballot.  Enquiries about the public ballot should be made via email to [email protected].

Once the registration period is complete, a distinct and separate draw will be held for each day of the tournament.

Those draws will be held on 13 February 2019, with winners notified electronically.

9,000 individual tickets are available in the ballot and applicants have the choice to apply for a maximum of two adult tickets for each of the three days of the event.

Applicants must be Hong Kong Residents in possession of a Hong Kong Identity Card and aged 18 or above on the day which they submit their application.

Ballot winners will need to complete payment for their tickets by 27 February 2019.

Tickets purchased via the ballot are HK$350 for Friday, HK$800 for Saturday and HK$800 for Sunday per ticket. An Administration fee of HK$ 50 will be charged for each ticket purchased.

In an effort to ensure the widest possible distribution of tickets, the HKRU has confirmed that once again no children’s concession tickets will be sold via the public ballot.

Ballot applicants can apply to attend any individual day or all three days of the event and may be successful across multiple entries for access on multiple days. Each applicant is allowed only one ballot entry per event day.

All interested spectators are reminded that only tickets sold through the official online ticketing agencies, HKRU member clubs or the public ballot or via Viagogo, the official ticket reseller of the Hong Kong Sevens, are guaranteed to be genuine.

Anyone purchasing tickets from non-official channels should be aware that doing so leaves them at risk.

Next year’s Hong Kong Sevens will be held from 5-7 April, 2019, at the Hong Kong Stadium. For more information on the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens please visit: www.hksevens.com.
